Field Training Officer (FTO) Course – February 2026

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a 40-hour Field Training Officer (FTO) course designed for sworn law enforcement officers preparing to become Field Training Officers. This course meets the POST mandate under Procedure D-13-6 and includes hands-on scenario work with academy recruits to reinforce coaching and evaluation skills.

Participants will practice performance documentation, develop remediation plans, and complete agency-specific daily observation reports — gaining real experience to elevate field training performance.
