PC 832 Arrest and Control Course
The Arrest component has a 40-hour requirement, and includes a 100-question, multiple-choice written examination and several skill examinations on Arrest and Control Techniques.
Prerequisites:
To attend the PC 832 Course, the following prerequisites must be met:

Background Requirements
- No felony convictions or restrictions on firearm ownership.

LIVESCAN Fingerprinting Clearance
- Obtain a LIVESCAN Fingerprinting Clearance. We accept either:
- A DOJ printout, or
- A clearance letter from a law enforcement agency (available only if you are employed by another law enforcement agency).
- Please note that results may take up to 4 weeks to process.

Medical Clearance
- Submit a medical clearance letter prior to the course.
- A medical clearance form will be provided by the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center.
- Alternatively, a POST Medical Suitability Declaration form (POST 2-265) is acceptable if dated within the last 6 months and provided by a law enforcement agency.

Registration
- Complete registration on the Stanislaus County Sheriff Regional Training Division website.

Payment of Fees
- Pay all applicable fees to the Stanislaus County Sheriff.
Course Details:
The PC 832 Arrest Course serves as the foundational training standard for limited peace officers in California, meeting the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Regulation 1005 requirements.
This 40-hour course covers 13 Learning Domains, encompassing essential knowledge and skills for arrest and control techniques.
Assessment includes a multiple-choice written exam and skill examinations. A pass is required for certification.
Location: 3805 Cornucopia Way, Modesto, CA (Attendance at the first session is mandatory).

PC 832 Firearms Course
The Arrest and Firearms (PC 832) course consists of two components, which total a minimum of 64 hours. The Firearms component has a 24-hour requirement, and includes a firearms range qualification examination.

Course Details:
The PC 832 Firearms Course is a minimum introductory training standard as specified in POST Regulation.
(POST) Regulation 1005 (a) (7) Every limited function peace officer shall satisfactorily meet the requirements of the PC 832 Arrest & Firearms Course, however training in the carrying and use of firearms shall not be required when an employing agency prohibits limited function peace officers the
use of firearms.
The firearms course is a 24-hour requirement. This course consists of one topic, called a Learning Domain. Learning domains contain the minimum required foundational information for given subjects. The training and testing specifications for a particular domain may also include information on required instructional activities and testing requirements.
The Firearms course includes a firearms range qualification examination. The test is graded pass/fail, with one re-test opportunity. If the re-test is failed, the course must be repeated in its entirety. This course meets the requirements of PC 12050 for application of carry concealed weapons permit (CCW)
